MY FIRST GHOST

My friend and spiritual teacher, Susan, received a call from a woman experiencing a strong negative energy in a house she’d just rented. Susan invited me along to investigate and I wasn’t sure what to expect. When we entered, I saw a shadow skirt along the wall. As we climbed the steps to go upstairs, I felt a heaviness or pressure in my head. I followed this feeling into a boy’s room. I felt a very negative energy and sensed a gray hovering as we sat on the floor in the room. I closed my eyes and opened to Spirit and sensed a man’s energy layered with so much sorrow and sadness. I felt what type of man he’d been in life, mean, nasty, abusive, especially to his son. He'd done his best to make sure his son’s life was every bit as miserable as his own had been. Now, in death, his spirit was still trying to find the boy and beg his forgiveness. Too many years. So much unfinished business. Too much guilt and regret. He didn’t feel worthy to cross into Heaven. His sorrow and pain seemed to fill me, and I found it hard to breathe. I began the practice of Tonglen, breathing in the negative energy, accepting it, then transforming it with love and light before releasing it back into the atmosphere as a positive loving energy. As I breathed I spoke to the tortured man, surrounding him also in light and love, asking him to please cross over, assuring him he would be welcome and would then understand what his life had been about and what lessons he’d had to learn.

A beautiful and warm purple color, actually an energy as it pulsed with life, surrounded the man with deep love and compassion, welcoming his spirt Home. His wife and son were waiting.

It was a profound and unforgettable experience. I was honored to be of service.
